About the event

This is not the update we were hoping to post this August.
At this difficult and challenging time and would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding. We have been hoping with fingers crossed that we could make Robo Riots happen this year and it is now clear with recent guidance from the government that unfortunately this cannot happen.
We want to provide you, our audience, with some certainty so we can now confirm that Robo Riots, which was scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, October 9th & 10th 2021 will now be postponed to Saturday & Sunday, October 8th & 9th 2022, with the same great line up of robots and venue. Unfortunately, just a year later than originally planned!
We ask that we work together in these uncertain times as our focus is to help keep the live event industry afloat, and keeping hold of your tickets for future shows helps to make this happen.  Our thoughts go out to each and every one of you.
We really hope you can make the rescheduled event and your original tickets will remain valid so you don’t need to do a thing. If you can’t make the new postponed date for Robo Riots 2022, your tickets are fully refundable by TicketSource.  To request a full refund, please email [email protected] with refund request and booking reference in the topic and we will collate a list of any refund requests and forward these to TicketSource who will process your refund. This will ensure the booking fee is refunded in full.
If we don’t hear from you by Wednesday 6th June 2022 we will assume you can make the rescheduled date.
We would like to say a huge thank you to you – our audience – for your loyalty and understanding during these exceptional times. The entire Robo Riots team including all the amazing roboteers, venue, crew, backstage and volunteers have worked tirelessly with us to make sure we can still deliver an amazing event albeit later than planned.
Please stay safe and we hope to see you all in 2022!

Tickets are on sale now for October 2021!

For their 21st live event, Robo Riots brings famous robots from BBC’s hit TV show Robot Wars, to battle it out live in Dublin.

They clash, spin, flip. Sparks fly. See your favourite robots take to the arena in our action packed family show.
The biggest, baddest, strongest and fastest next-generation 110kg robots from BBC’s Robot Wars and newcomers from all over Ireland and UK competing in three-minute bouts in which the goal is to destroy or disable the opponent to reign supreme in Robot Combat Sports.

Robot Wars Champions will be taking to the arena including; Thor, Diotoir, Beast fighting against veterans such as Flick, Ripper and KingB and novice robots such as Iron Heart and Teresa Mayhem. Bounty fights, robot rumbles and grudge rematches will all be on display during the 2020 event. This is the first full length heavyweight combat robot tournament of its scale in Ireland! Every live event session promises metal-munching, head-to-head, monster matchups and jaw-dropping exhibition matches that fans have always dreamt of.

Robot battling is a true sport of the future. It has all the right elements: mad science, gladiatorial combat, plucky garage inventors, and hi-tech machinery. Brutally effective, utterly vicious machines have now evolved from one based on an engineering challenge, to that of hi-tech operational challenge with space age materials.

As well as the heavyweight action, there will be a chance to see the smaller featherweights, with up to 10 robots in one fight!

But it’s not just combat robots! There will also be celebrity robots like R2-D2, a Dalek, a minecraft creeper and AL-1X – our very own z-list celebrity robot. We also have boxing robots. Seven foot rockem sockem boxing robots will be trading haymakers in a no holds barred one-on-one slugfest to literally knock each other’s block off.

Want to build your own robot? There is plenty of opportunity to talk to the roboteers and also get autographs around the pits.

Mechatrons have been running Robo Riots live events in Ireland for over 20 years. The team are themselves are veterans of BBC’s Robot Wars appearing in season 1 to 6 and the reboot in 2018 with their flaming furball robots, Nemesis and Diotoir.

All events are subject to government covid regulations. In the event of postponement due to Covid-19 restrictions, all tickets will be transferable to a future event. Full terms can be found here.

Ticket prices from 20euro plus fees.
